At first I just saw the top of the image and thought “There’s no way that shit’s gonna magically find my car a new EGR valve...”
Then I scrolled down and realized why this is so funny

They’ve been selling that junk since the 80s. Snake Oil makes big money.

When I worked autoparts, I told a lot of the people it was snake oil. Plenty bought it anyway.

I worked for CRC at one point. if you could prove you bought it and you said your engine didn’t pass emissions, you got double your money back.

I sell that stuff. I tell people, “we don’t guarantee it, they do”

I wish tv shows would actually test these things with serious methods.

I had a few people recommend this shit when I first bought my Volvo and mostly had emmisions stuff to fix. Yes, pouring this magic fluid into my car will fix the physical leaks in my evap system.

Because having a logo that looks like metal means it must be true #marketing

Ugh, Volvos and emissions are a PITA. Both my dad’s V70 and my V50 are throwing check engine codes which are probably oxygen sensor related or something similar. We haven’t gotten them fixed yet though because life is so busy. Probably a good thing to get done sooner than later although they will have to be cleared at least before smog testing.

Yeah but how many people actually go to all that trouble? Most people don't.

This kind of shit should be illegal.

The label sells.
“It’s Guaranteed! They can’t just say that”.
Ugh.

We always had people calling in. I can’t say one way or another about the product, but our money-back guarantee on it was solid.

Huh that’s really interesting. I’d expect people to be lazy.
This kind of crap should be illegal though if it allows a dirty car to squeak by an emissions test.

Does it fix exploded/melted Honda catalytic converter? Mine required welding and a sophisticated cheater device. (wife thinks it’s the REPLACE engine light).

Nice use of a VW on the label. I’m intrigued by ‘double your money back’, though. Sounds like an invitation to buy a car that’s sure to fail emissions, and a truckload of that stuff, and double your money.
